Man faces felony assault charge for hurling sandwich at federal agent

Sean Charles Dunn has been charged with felony assault against a federal officer after throwing a sandwich at a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred on Sunday night when Dunn approached the agent and began shouting obscenities, including complaints about federal presence in the city. After his verbal outburst, he threw a sub-style sandwich that struck agent Lairmore in the chest. The incident was captured on video and went viral, showing Dunn fleeing across the street with officers pursuing him.

During police processing, Dunn admitted to the act. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro stated that while Dunn may have found it amusing, he now faces serious felony charges and up to one year in prison.
