DHS Secretary announces black paint strategy for entire southern border wall

During her visit to a New Mexico border section, Secretary Noem outlined the administration's strategy to paint the entire southern border wall black. This approach, originally suggested by President Trump, aims to make the metal surface extremely hot and difficult to climb. Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks noted that the black paint would also prevent rust.

Construction continues at approximately half a mile per day, with Congress having allocated $46 billion for completion. The wall's design varies according to different geographical regions, and the department is developing additional infrastructure including water-based barriers along the Rio Grande. Interestingly, these efforts continue despite a significant decrease in illegal border crossing attempts.
