Governor Newsom responds to Bed Bath & Beyond refusing to open California stores

Bed Bath & Beyond, a home goods store, decided not to open physical stores in California after going bankrupt in 2023. The company's boss, Marcus Lemonis, said California has too many regulations and is too expensive for businesses. He thinks the state makes it hard for companies to succeed and create good jobs.

The company plans to open about 300 small stores in other states but will only deliver products to California customers. Governor Newsom's office was surprised by this decision and wished the company good luck.
