Tourist dies after medical emergency on Disneyland ride

A 53-year-old tourist from the Philippines died on Friday morning at Hong Kong Disneyland. He had a medical emergency while riding the Frozen Ever After attraction. The man suddenly lost consciousness during the ride.

When the boat was ready to stop, park staff quickly gave him first aid and CPR. An ambulance took him to North Lantau Hospital, where doctors said he was dead about 90 minutes later. His wife told police that her husband already had medical problems.

Disney investigated and said the death was not because of ride safety problems. The park said they were very sorry and will help the family. The Frozen ride will be closed from August 31 to September 19 for operational reasons.
