Jewell Loyd says Storm drama is behind her, feels peaceful in Las Vegas

Jewell Loyd is preparing to face her former team, the Seattle Storm, in the WNBA playoffs. This matchup has personal meaning because Loyd spent 10 seasons with the Storm and won two championships after being chosen first in the 2015 draft.

However, she had a difficult departure from the team, claiming that the coaching staff harassed and bullied her, which resulted in her trade to the Las Vegas Aces in February. Despite these past tensions, Loyd says she has found peace with the situation and is completely focused on helping the second-seeded Aces succeed in the playoffs. She has already played against the Storm twice this season with mixed results.

A major change in Loyd's season happened when she chose to come off the bench in late July, which coincided with the Aces winning 16 games in a row. Coach Becky Hammon praised Loyd's unselfish attitude, saying it's unusual for such a talented player to give up her starting position. The first playoff game will be on Sunday in Las Vegas.
