The Golden Bachelor Season 2 Begins

Mel Owens, who played football before, started looking for love on The Golden Bachelor show. He apologized to 23 women because he said wrong things about age before. He told them his father died and he divorced his wife.

He has been alone for five years. He felt nervous at first but then became more comfortable with the women. He gave the first special rose to Gerri because she talked openly about her family.

At the first ceremony, he chose 16 women to stay. Cheryl got the first date alone with him. They rode in an expensive car and had dinner.

The other women learned cheerleading at a stadium with Paula Abdul. Cindy won a rose after the cheerleading. At a pool party, Nicole kissed Mel a lot and other women didn't like it.

Four more women had to leave. Now 17 women continue in the show.
