Szijjártó: Brussels prepares for war while Hungary seeks peace

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has strongly criticized the EU's proposed seven-year budget, calling it essentially a 'Ukrainian budget.' He argues that it prioritizes financing Ukraine's military over addressing European challenges like economic competitiveness and energy security. Hungary categorically rejects using Hungarian taxpayers' money for Ukraine's war efforts, emphasizing that Hungary wants peace while Brussels appears to push for war.

Prime Minister Orbán has also rejected the budget draft, arguing it would burden Hungarian farmers and weaken the economy. The Hungarian government maintains that EU funds should focus on European economic and social challenges rather than prolonging conflict through military support.
