Amtrak is giving $900 holiday bonuses to more than 18,000 workers. The company's managers decided to give up half of their own bonuses to make this possible. The government asked Amtrak to do this.

Amtrak also stopped giving long-term bonuses to senior leaders. The company had a successful year with record passenger numbers and ticket sales.
