A mass shooting occurred at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in northeastern British Columbia on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in eight deaths. Six victims were found inside the school building, one died during transport to hospital, and two additional victims were discovered at a connected residence.

The suspected shooter, described as a woman with brown hair, was also found dead at the scene from an apparent self-inflicted injury. Approximately 25 people sustained injuries and received treatment at local medical facilities. The RCMP responded promptly, mobilizing additional officers and emergency response teams.

A shelter-in-place order was issued for the community and lifted at 6:45pm. Tumbler Ridge, a remote community of about 2,400 residents, is receiving support from local faith leaders and mental health professionals as the investigation continues.
