Her family and close friends announced her death on Instagram on February 11, sharing an emotional tribute that celebrated her vibrant life and remarkable spirit.

They described her as someone who lived fully, brought people together, and had an exceptional ability to make others feel alive. Lacelle appeared in the first season of the show, which followed wealthy individuals navigating relationships on the island and aired in 2024 with 10 episodes. She publicly disclosed her diagnosis of mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare cancer, in May 2025.

By January, her condition had deteriorated significantly, with the cancer spreading to her liver, stomach, and abdominal areas. She remained hospitalized since December, undergoing chemotherapy while continuing to inspire those around her.
